Location: Instituto Picasso is located in the Andalusian Spanish city of Malaga. A city famed for being the home to artist Pablo Picasso, the school is housed in the beautiful Plaza de la Merced, not far from his home and birthplace! Surrounded by several monuments, museums, restaurants and commercial areas, Istituto Picasso has a fantastic location, ensuring that students have all they need to enjoy the city to its fullest, whilst reaching their language goals. The beautiful coastal beaches, along with the Alcazaba, Castle of Gibralfaro and the beautiful gardens of Pedro Luis Alonso, are all within walking
distance of the school's front doors.

Course selection: Course selection at Instituto Picasso offers something for students of all levels. General Spanish courses are available with a variety of intensities, independently or in conjunction with specialised lessons in Commercial Spanish, Culture Literature, History, Hospitality Management and Commercial Correspondence. DELE Preparation programmes are also available all year round.

Accommodation: Accommodation is a key part of the experience that a student receives whilst studying a foreign language and the school understands this. Instituto Picasso is happy to assist with accommodation in Homestay, Shared Apartments and Studio Apartments, all of which are within walking distance of the school.

School facilities: The facilities of the school include a library, computer lab and a student support desk for any questions or queries that may arise. All classrooms have ample natural light to create an optimal learning environment.

You will take 4 lessons every day, with content that covers language skill areas such as grammar, conversation, writing, vocabulary and pronunciation. The school tries to use familiar situations for role plays, such as being at a bar or an airport, to ensure that students learn how to apply their language skills in a real context.

This course provides students with practical and intensive training that enables them to communicate in Spanish within 12 weeks.

“I did not regret it for a minute that I've chosen Picasso school for my autumn studies. My language teachers (and I had several of them in a week, because the school uses an interesting technique of switching the teachers for part of the time) were passionate, well educated and encouraging.
The school location is also out of any complaints from my side: the very centre of the city, beautiful surroundings, old authentic building (especially for those who are looking for a sense of Spain in addition to the classes). Might be hot during summer periods, though this is not something the school can do.
I had both group and individual classes the same week (so called intensive course) and for me it was the optimal combination.”

In the shared apartment accommodation you will live with other students from Instituto Picasso, in this case with each person in their own single room. The apartments are situated just a few minutes away from the school on foot, and offer residents a total of three or four bedrooms, a living room, kitchen, and one or two bathrooms (depending on the apartment).
The kitchen comes equipped with all the utensils you need to cook at home, so you won’t have to buy anything extra. Every apartment also provides bed linens, a washing machine, a TV, and a WiFi connection. The Instituto makes their best effort to match students of a similar age in their apartments.

"The room and bedding were sadly only half clean. Unfortunately, parts of the bedding and a warm blanket were also missing. There was no heating, which was difficult to manage because it was very cold in the apartment. Unfortunately the vacuum cleaner could not be used (it had no suction power).

The apartment shared with two really lovely ladies was great, the kitchen equipment, a washing machine and a general sitting area. Perfect.

"I had one of the shared flats to myself, so far so good. I was able to choose one of the three rooms. What I didn't like was the cleanliness and I certainly didn't expect German standards. The toilet brush must have been vegetating there for years, the flat was not cleaned, although it was said otherwise. This was particularly evident in the kitchen and every (!) bed, where I could still find hair from strangers when I was looking for one to use. Some of the appliances in the kitchen didn't work and when they did, they were unruly. Price-performance was ok, but could be improved here!

I'm finishing my A2 course, but my level is definitely lower. Very little practice. Is it possible to do a one-week course with such little knowledge of the language? I don't know any English.
“The school accepts students with any level of knowledge. As you already have previous knowledge of the language, you will definitely take a language level test before the course starts so that you can be placed in the right group.

No knowledge of English is required, as the teaching is exclusively in Spanish. ”
