What our students said about Malaga
A small sweet town, which turns into a party mile in the evening. As a result, there is an increased smell of urine (thanks to some incontinent men) and rubbish in the small streets. Thanks to many cleaners, there is nothing to be seen of this the next morning. The beach and the harbour are very beautiful and were my second home in good weather (in February/March unfortunately a lot of rain and cooler than expected). The people working in Malaga are mostly very nice and most of them can talk to you well in English.
Germany
Very beautiful city that is easy to get around in. There are very beautiful landmarks to visit and a number of interesting museums. Public transport is above expectations, although it can be a little difficult to understand the system if you do not speak Spanish. Overall, the city is pretty clean, but if you go into secluded alley watch your step: people don't pick up after their dogs. Would definitely recommend Malaga.
Sweden
If you like a smaller city, Malaga is the place for you! The historic old town, where you live, is easy to explore on foot. Every time you discover new restaurants, tapas bars or ice cream parlors that you still want to try out. The Soho area is also fun to explore and the beaches anyway. It is highly recommended that you borrow a bike and explore both the beaches in the direction of Pedregalejo and in the west.
Germany
Lots of sites and monuments to see, tons of restaurants and bars to go out, very friendly people, which is really good to practice Spanish in the shops and streets. I had no issues with safety. The city is kept very clean, e.g. after a huge storm, all the leaves and branches that fell off the trees were cleaned up the next day. Everything is very accessible by foot if you're staying at a place near the center.
Germany
Malaga is a fabulous city to stay in for a short or longer time. It feels very safe. It's easy to walk about, and the public transport is brilliant and easy to navigate. There's lots to do, including historical sites, museums, theatres, the beach and walks along the seafront. I heard that the nightlife is excellent too!
Germany
Malaga is stunningly beautiful. I took the open top red bus tour a couple of times and found the history fascinating. I also walked for hours along the pretty paved areas around the parks and gardens and explored the old City. I will always remember Malaga.
England UK
Outstanding venue for our purposes. A most memorable working/studying vacation. We are encouraged to return for another update on our Spanish language skills. Our instructors were fabulous. It is on us to continue our progress here at home.
I lived in an apartment which sadly had few heaters and wind was blowing through the windows and so on... I was freezing and had to keep my gloves on indoors! (This has nothing to do with the school though, they have efficient heaters.)
Finland
La Cala del Moral is very beautiful. We didn't want to have any night life, so I don't have opinion about it. The house where we lived was peaceful, and that's the most important thing for me. For me the nights are for sleeping.
Finland
Rich nightlife, interesting museums, sights, incredible fortresses, beautiful parks, very tasty food - specially fresh fish, clear sea, the beaches have a dull colour of grey sand but there are showers and clean toilets around.
Poland
The city center is at times so overcrowded with daytime tourists that you can hardly get through (my room was in the old town). 2 weeks were ideal for me. That would be too much for me in Summer, with even more hype.
Switzerland
I think Malaga is a very beautiful city, absolutely suitable for spending time with friends. I found the public transport excellent as well as the kindness of the local people.
Italy
Beautifully landscaped, with parks, plants, fountains, monuments, well-kept toilets!!! Overall, the city makes a clean well-kept impression, there is a relaxed, cheerful mood
Germany
Malaga center - very nice, great restaurants and beautiful architecture of the houses, a lot to discover, interesting museums. Pleasant atmosphere.
Germany
I am so happy that I decided to come to Malaga. The people are really nice and the city itself has a beautiful landscape and so much history.
Germany
Very much worth seeing! A city with a vibrant life, many interesting museums and very good transport connections by bus and train.
Germany
I love the scenery as well as the city itself with all it has to give. The people are so friendly and I felt at home.
Germany
Very interesting, with many attractions, both cultural and natural. Lively and vibrant. Possibility of day trips.
Italy
I think everybody should go because it’s so beautiful, clean and there’s a lot of stuff to do.
Netherlands
A lively city where you feel safe with nice restaurants and the beaches within walking distance.

Course: Intensive Course - 2 weeks

The instructor tried very hard to find the right course for my language skills. Overall, it would be great if there was a conversation-only course. In the first week, it is difficult to assess yourself as you have no comparison, perhaps a personal assessment of your knowledge on the spot would be more useful. Very good teachers with varied methods. Time flies by. For conversation: book individual lessons. Great location in Malaga
Only two toilets. Risk of queues in front of the toilets at the end of the school day.

Q&A - Questions and answers about Malaga
- I am 51 years old and hesitate whether to opt for a 50+ or an all-ages course.“With your 51 years old, you can opt for a 50+ course, but also a general Spanish course. For 50+ courses, there are often limited start dates so I recommend you join the general course, then you have a greater chance of finding a good language group at your level, on a date of your preference. The biggest difference between the general and 50+ course is usually the extra after-course activities that are organised. We can always have a look at the average age within a particular school if you are in doubt. ”Robin Rebecca Pietersma, LanguageCourse.Net - Apr 24, 2023Is Malaga bike friendly? And if so, are there opportunities to rent bikes in Malaga?“Malaga is definitely a bike-friendly city. We can recommend these bike rental companies that our students used during their stay: Recyclobike, Malaga Bike Tours and Bike Tours Malaga. ”Olga, Administration from Debla - Mar 17, 2023Is it possible to book junior courses outside of the summer months?“Most juniors courses take place during the summer months, but some schools also offer junior courses during spring and fall. You can find the start dates for junior courses on the schools profile page. ”Louise Granath, LanguageCourse.Net - Mar 01, 2023Is it possible to join a course in summer?“Yes, there are courses available all around the year.”Sawsan Zein, LanguageCourse.Net - Feb 03, 2023I would like to book a Spanish course for beginners in Malaga but I don't need accommodation. You can organize your own accommodation according to your preferences.”Ana Carolina Dos Santos, LanguageCourse.Net - Dec 06, 2022I am 63 and want to go to a language school in Malaga for older people, in January. I also want a school where it is easy to access shops and accommodation nearby, as I cannot walk very far. Can you advise me, please?“In Malaga, Spanish programmes for students over 50s are available in March, April, September, October, and November. In any other month, you can participate in a Spanish course with students of mixed ages. The school in Malaga with the more mature students throughout the year is Academia CILE - the average age of the students is 37 years old. Teachers have plenty of experience in having students of all ages and adapting the content and rhythm of the class to students regardless of their age.”Ana Carolina Dos Santos, LanguageCourse.Net - Nov 17, 2022I am looking for a 1-week course for mature students and advanced Spanish speakers. Is this something you can help me with?“The average age of the students at Academia CILE in Malaga is 36 years old throughout the year. The school offers Spanish programs suitable for all levels: A1 to C2. A test to assess your exact language level takes place before the start of the course via an online form. This way, the school can place you in the right group.”Ana Carolina Dos Santos, LanguageCourse.Net - Oct 31, 2022Are there schools where the courses are for a longer period (ie 3 months), where there are no new groups of students every week?“The schools in Malaga are open year-round and students are arriving every Monday. There are no closed groups for a certain period. You can join an existing group and new students can join your group afterward.”Ana Carolina Dos Santos, LanguageCourse.Net - Oct 17, 2022

The cost of the course remains the same throughout the year and does not change. However, I always tell my students to complete their reservations the earlier the better.
