What we dislike about the school
- A 45 minute lesson duration is a bit shorter than normal.
Location: Linguamania Vigo is a Spanish language school located in the coastal, historic city of Vigo, in northwest Spain's Galician region. The school is situated right in the centre of the city of Vigo, the biggest city in Galicia, in the main street on the second floor of a commercial gallery full of shops and a bar-restaurant. It is housed on a pedestrianised street, only a 5-minutes walk from the nautical port and the old city. Attractions and sites of interest within walking distance of the school include O Farol de Urzáiz, the Basílica de Santa María de Vigo, Alameda da Praza de Compostela Park, Castelo do Castro, the MARCO Modern Art Museum and more.
School facilities: The school is very quiet and offers bright rooms with natural light and comfortable furniture. The school facilities include a library, fridge use for students, and heating in all classrooms. Linguamania also offers free WIFI.
Social and Cultural: The school is happy to assist with touristic information for arranging trips and excursions locally. Such excursions and activities can range anywhere from visiting some of the 45 beaches in the surrounding areas of Vigo to excursions to Santiago de Compostela, Porto, and many Portuguese villages. Activities available through the school can include dancing, cooking lessons and much more.
Getting around: Linguamania Vigo is a 12-minute walk from the Vigo Guixar central train station.

“Small classes. Teaching to the level required. Very nice, specially the excursions. For every level of "Spanish", the courses are adapted to the level of the students. Very recommendable.”
“The school has NO weaknesses. The city Vigo has. The bus system is not very good. It is an industry city with a big port. We were lucky to have a hotel close to the train and bus station and a commercial center. The school was 10 minutes away from the hotel, so that was no problem. I recommend to other visitors to get a map and the touristic information from the Oficina de Turismo, that is very close to the school.”
Insider tip: “The museum just opposite to the school had a nice exposition of contemporary art (Garvèl).”

“There were only 2 levels. Beginners and A2/B1. Within the group there were large differences in level. Furthermore, there was no real lesson plan that suited level A2B1. I can't say that I really learned something new that I now master. After 5x3 hours of lessons you would expect that and I have experienced that at other language schools.”

- Generally, course material has to be purchased by all students at the school. The costs of course material will be approximately €25 per course level.
- Comments about courses
The number of lessons will be reduced if there isn't a group for that specific level.
For courses of 2 months or longer, students need to purchase books (one or more for each level).
The school offers extensive courses of 2 and 3 hours per week in group, online and in school during afternoons mainly during the school year (oct to May/June) and only during PM in July and August. Students must buy the book and make a compromise to stay at least 4 months in the extensive courses. The intensive course minimum is one week all year though we use to teach always at least 2 weeks in summer time from May to Oct.- Individual classes
- Single individual lessons of tuition can be reserved at 35 €. The combination of group and individual lessons is highly recommended. Individual lessons will encourage you to actively speak the foreign language and will offer you the opportunity to discuss individual problems and weaknesses.
