Location: Maltalingua School of English St. Julian's is located in the vibrant Maltese town of St. Julian's. The school is to the west of St. Julians Bay and offers shops, boutiques, restaurants, commercial malls and the beach within walking distance.
Course selection: In addition to General English available to students of all levels over various intensities, Maltalingua also provides 30+ programmes for students aged 30+ years, Business English, IELTS Preparation and Junior summer programmes. The Junior Summer programmes are available as fully immersive programmes with residential or homestay accommodation or as day programmes.
School facilities: The school facilities include a swimming pool, a private Café and a large rooftop terrace, a school location near the beach, air conditioning in all classrooms, a free library, free WiFi and an Internet Studio.
Social and cultural: St. Julian's is a popular tourist destination, with the area's official language being English. There are many bars, discos, restaurants, boutique shops and the beautiful pristine waters of the coast, within walking distance of the school. In addition to many sporting and leisure activities, the area also has many architectural and historical sites of interest, such as Knisja tal-Karmnu, Fort Manoel and Spinola Palace.
Associations and Accreditations: Maltilingua School of English St. Julian's has been recognised by EAQUALS as having an 11 out of 12 score under their scoring system. The school has also received the Best School in Malta award (2018), and a teacher from the school received the "Most Inspiration Professor" (2019) award.

“Interesting teachers, very involved, they were using activating methods.”
“Unfortunately, I waited two days to change my group because I was classified in a level too high. The reception claimed that there were no places available in other groups. It was only on the third day that I succeeded. On the other hand, in the second week the teacher was not very involved, she did not correct mistakes, she was unable to explain topics well, we did not understand what she was saying. She was not very involved and did not engage the group enough, especially as there were only Poles and Czechs in the group. A big mistake - creating a group that speaks one language....The last day there was another teacher - a wonderful Kwestii who saved the honour of the school”

These apartments are provided by the school itself and are the most popular accommodation option among Maltalingua’s students thanks to their reasonable cost as well as the opportunity to continue practising your English language skills with your roommates outside of class time. Depending on the exact apartment, you could be living with a maximum of 6 other students, but since this option represents the low season you can expect these apartments not to be occupied to capacity.
Some of the features you will find in this accommodation include free internet access, a kitchen with all the utensils you need, a washing machine, TV, and air conditioning. Bed clothing is provided and is washed every week, but the school asks guests to bring their own towels.
These apartments are a maximum of 20 minutes’ walking distance to the school, and in some cases are situated even closer, making this a convenient location for students.

"Fortunately, our flat was just lightly occupied with 3 people out of 7, which was great. It also has three toilets/two bathrooms. The kitchen equipment was okay.

"The apartment was not cleaned. The cupboards, including the fridge, were full of old, expired food. There were not enough seats for the number of residents. For the use of the AC in the communal areas you have to pay extra per use. The apartments are located on a very busy and therefore very noisy street. The single room is very small and, unlike the other rooms, has no seating and no desk.

This course is a great option for those students who want to advance their English skills while still having time left over in their daily lives to enjoy other aspects of living in Malta. The school uses six levels of ability to organise their groups, and you will be placed in the group most appropriate for you according to the results of your placement test. Please note that there will be further placement tests at a later date to monitor your progress and change your group if necessary.
As a general English course, the method of this programme seeks to cover all four pillars of language study: Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening.
