Price comparison: 1 week Learn a Language & Live with Teacher English course including accommodation
Standard 15
If complete immersion is your goal, then living with one of HLI’s homestay teachers in the English city of Birmingham will give you exactly what you’re looking for. Your lessons will be entirely customised towards your particular needs, which could be academic or business-related, or simply general. These lessons add up to 15 hours every week, but thanks to living under the same roof as your teacher and their family, you will have abundant opportunities for conversation and thus improving your English speaking skills.
When you’re not too busy with your classes, your host family will show you around the city, where you can expect to find plenty of museums, well-looked-after public parks, and live music venues. Some great places to start might include St. Philip’s Cathedral, a walk by the local canals at Gas Street Basin, or a concert at the famous Symphony Hall.
Your three meals per day will be provided by your host family, and it’s recommended that you take the chance to have a chat with your teacher and their family during mealtimes just to be social and maximise the time that you spend speaking in English, which will all add up and contribute to your language skill improvements over time.
