What our students said about Istanbul

Hospitable, friendly city, lots of stores and entertainment catering to all tastes and wallets. Fairly safe place - there is an active life until 1 am in the tourist part of the center, some stores are open, a lot of police, but no disturbances. Historical monuments, museums, parks, a city with a very convenient public transportation system. Fresh air, sunny weather and friendly people create an unforgettable atmosphere of joy and pleasure. Depending on the time of year, it is possible to visit the nearby islands to enjoy a beach holiday.

5.0Valentina Russia

This city is very impressive! It is buzzing day and night. The cleanliness is as good as I have ever experienced in any big city. You can experience whatever your heart desires. The various services are almost without exception impressively good and of great creativity. The cuisine is also very appealing.

5.0Heike Germany

Great, exhausting, exciting, colourful - Istanbul is something you have to walk around or use public transport. Taksim is the area to go for shopping, eating out, amusement, contemporary witnesses can be found everywhere in the city. Multicultural and open-minded.

5.0Kirstin Germany

Istanbul is a fascinating city with a mix of tradition and modernity. There are many sights, great walking districts, lots of helpful people and a great public transport network. Unfortunately, the euro has also arrived here and many things have become expensive.

5.0Nadine Germany

Istanbul is the best city on earth. It is hip, free and has all kinds of people. Istanbul is an open air museum, wherever you go you will see beautiful and interesting things. Every district is different, you can never get enough of Istanbul.

4.0Dünya Netherlands

I liked the ferry rides best, and apart from that I walked around a lot and found Orhan Pamuk's museum very imaginative. As a solo traveller, I had no problems at all going out to eat. However, I can't say anything about the nightlife...

5.0Margitta Germany

Istanbul is my favourite city in the whole world! I am nowhere as happy as in İstanbul! The warmest people I know live in Istanbul and the city will always have a place in my heart!!!

5.0Hannah Germany

Istanbul is a very interesting city. However, it is not really recommended for people with heart conditions because it is constantly going up and down, which is very exhausting.

4.0Martin Germany

Istanbul is a huge city with an enormous history. There are a lot of sights, beaches and night life is not neglected either.

5.0Ünal Germany

Everything from a big city. Unfortunately, as a foreigner you have to pay a lot for everything.

Learned a lot from Şeyma! Because I was between two levels, I was taught 1 on 1. This was intensive but also very effective! Şeyma was patient and very helpful.

Small group. The teacher was always available.
I know it is difficult, but it helps if we all have exactly the same level. Some students come for a day or two and then new students arrive.

The school is very well organized. The staff are extremely friendly, polite, and patient. The teacher, Nilay, is very competent, very kind, very patient, and extremely accommodating. We had a lot of fun in the classes. I can recommend the school and the organization at any time.
I think this is a very good school and can recommend it with a clear conscience.

Information about Istanbul

Why Istanbul? Istanbul is one of the truly great romantic cities, with it´s skyline studded with domes and minarets. Its history tracks back from Byzantium to Constantinople to its place at the head of the Ottoman Empire. Fragments of this varied architectural inheritance are visible, with stunning Ottoman mosques, classical columns, Byzantine structures, ancient city walls and fine churches. Today Istanbul hums as Turkey's cultural heart and good-time capital. With the buzzing atmosphere of the pedestrian Istiklal Caddesi and its hundreds of bars, cinemas, art galleries, restaurants and bistros, the city seems more funky and cosmopolitan than ever.

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions About Turkish Courses in Istanbul

I am an absolute beginner and would like to focus on practical conversation rather than grammar. Is that possible?
If you are an absolute beginner, you will need grammar before you can converse, as you will naturally need to learn to build sentences first.
Robin Rebecca Pietersma, Language Travel Consultant from LanguageCourse.Net - Mar 12, 2024
How many hours should I study to achieve the different levels (A1/A2/B1/B2/C1/C2) in Turkish?
On average, for A1/A2 level you need about 100-120 hours, for B1/B2 450-490 hours and for C1/C2 1000-1100 hours of study. Of course, it all depends on how quickly you pick it up, what your prior knowledge is (possibly also of a similar language) and whether you learn the language in the country of origin. So, for this reason, we specialise in offering languages in the country of origin, as there you improve your language skills the fastest!
