14 General Italian Courses for Adults in Venice

If you ever considered moving to Italy to learn the language but perhaps feel that Rome would be too touristy and intense, then living with your teacher in Venice might be the alternative you were looking for. You will study on a schedule of 20 one-to-one lessons every week, which will improve your Reading and Writing skills in particular, while constant conversation opportunities with the host family will improve your Speaking and Listening abilities.

Having your host family on hand to consult about cultural matters in Italy will help you integrate more quickly, and they will also help you find your bearings as you settle into your life in Venice.

Your hosts will provide you with three meals per day, as this is a full-board experience. If needed, Study & Live in your Teacher's Home encourages prospective students to get in touch with their Local Organiser staff who also live in Venice, as they will be responsible for making sure that the home tuition programme is meeting all of your expectations.

Learn Italian in Venice while living with a local Homestay family, on a manageable schedule of 20 hours per week. This number of class hours is enough for the majority of students to experience significant improvements in their Italian language skills over the weeks or months, so it is suited for those who are in no particular hurry and don’t have any deadlines coming up that concern their Italian level.

Venice is famous around the world for the activities that visitors and residents can enjoy, such as taking a ride through the Grand Canal via Gondola or visiting St. Mark’s Basilica. These excursions and more will be included in your experience on the Classic course, with two-day trips taking place every week. These are designed to increase the immersiveness of your Italian studies, by exposing you to enjoyable experiences in Venice as often as possible.
