What we dislike about the school
- Nationality mix could be more balanced. 50% of students are from Spain
Location: Babel Academy of English Junior Summer School is in the north east of Dublin in a small suburb called Raherty. It is a short distance from the coast, and the Causeway Road crossing to Bull Island. The school is on the edge of St Anne’s Park which has a tennis court, an arboretum and a farmers market. The centre of Raheny has a couple of restaurants and local cafes. The school is 30 minutes from the centre of Dublin, and 20 minutes from Dublin Airport.
Package: This junior programme includes 20 lessons of English per week, entry test, course material, a course book, a school bag, certificate on completion, full board accommodation, airport transfers, excursions and a social programme.
Course structure: The English classes are taken in the morning and are divided into three sections. The first block of lessons is about communication skills, followed by functional language and idiomatic English. Fluency is the focus of the second block of classes.
Excursions: Day trips to local attractions take place on the weekends. Popular options for the excursions include Howth Village and cliff walks or Kilkenny Castle and Dunmore Caves.
Activity schedule: After lunch, there is an intensive schedule of cultural activities. Students may have the chance to cycle in Phoenix Park, kayak in River Liffey and visit the Kilmainham Gaol.

This Junior course offers a fully immersive experience at Dublin City University where students can improve their English while enjoying a dynamic and safe environment with other international students. On-site lessons take place on the university campus with qualified teachers and students are supervised 24 hours a day by activity leaders who organize engaging evening activities every day. Accommodation is in a single room with a shared bathroom and the program includes full-board meals with breakfast hot lunch and dinner.
Transfers for arrival and departure are included for flights arriving between 8:00 and 20:00 h.
