Location: ICE Irish College of English is located on the outskirts of the medieval Irish capital city of Dublin, in the picturesque town of Malahide. The school is well situated, a short walk from the supermarket and local attractions such as Malahide Castle, beach and the Malahide Train Station. Students of ICE have everything they need to reach their language goals, from the pleasant town of Malahide, only a 20-minute train ride from Central Dublin.
Course selection: Course selection with the school includes something suitable for all levels with General English, Part-time Cambridge Exam Preparation as well as Private and Group lesson combination programmes available all year round.
Accommodation: Accommodation available in local Homestay facilities ensures that students receive a fully immersive programme with the possibility of meal plans also on hand.
School facilities: The school's facilities are commendable with a library, use of fridge and microwaves, a cafeteria and a student support desk, at the disposal of the students. All classrooms are equipped with televisions and have ample natural light to create the optimal learning environment.
Additional information: A destination town just a short journey from the attractions of Dublin City, Malahide has much to offer students, with over 30 restaurants, several pubs, coastal walks and an array of outdoor leisure activities.
ICE Irish College of English is also available for School Groups as well as for Junior programmes throughout the summer months.

“We sent our 14 year old son for 4 weeks in August 2024 to this school. My son was very pleased, there were only a few Russian kids, but they were placed in different families and different groups and they practically did not cross paths, which was good, did not interfere with the effect of immersion in the language environment. The school is located in a very beautiful area of Dublin, around expensive houses, very clean, quiet, safe, beautiful. Near the seaside. The journey from home to school took about 15 minutes on foot. The programme was moderately intensive with a lot of activities in the afternoon (excursions, sports, cinema, shopping, walks, zoo and others). Polite and attentive staff, my son flew back home on his own, the school oversaw the whole process. My son lived in a family of an elderly couple, there were 3 people in the room, the house was clean, cosy, the hosts were hospitable.”
“He did not like the food in the host family. Breakfast was always either cereal or toast with jam. For lunch There was always a standard sandwich (bread with sausage) for lunch which was packed and taken to the school. And only dinner was decent (meat, fish, side dishes). But we realised that this are standard meals for the Irish and they eat like that themselves. So we just left extra money for our son and he bought himself the usual food (kept in the fridge in the kitchen and cooked it himself) and went to lunch in cafes, there are a lot of them in the area for every taste and purse.”

Can my 14-year-old daughter book the junior course without activities, just the language course? We are traveling together and would like to stay with a host family.
“Yes, it is possible to book only the junior language course without activities, but our families expect the students to be busy with us until about 15.30-17:00 each day, so I’m not sure if it would work not doing the activities.”

Do lessons start on Sundays for junior courses and do students need to arrive a day before on a Saturday?
“The start date on Sunday means that the accommodation and first activities start on that day. The actual lessons begin on Monday so it is perfectly OK for your child to arrive on Sunday. The last day of lessons will be Friday but there are activities planned for Saturday after the course - this is why the accommodation is included until Sunday.”
