What our students said about Lisbon
Lisbon is a fantastic, crazy, really beautiful city with breathtaking views. It is among my favourite capitals, there is all so much free culture: concerts, movies, music and lots of nightlife, but I love historic cities. With my friend we went to free film festivals, outdoor film screenings, fado concerts, we attended the free opera in front of San Carlo city tours, beautiful museums, we visited amazing bookstores and libraries. It really strikes me that the city of Lisbon invests so much in culture that even the locals can take advantage of it. In addition, there is a myriad of places to go have a drink at any time and most importantly, you can eat very well, especially if you can find places that are also frequented by locals. I am also very intrigued by the locals. Unfortunately, we had a hard time getting to know Portuguese people being foreigners, they seem to me to be a rather reserved population. In bars and restaurants, we made friends with the waiters because we returned to the same places more often. Anyway, a magical city full of beauty and historical monuments, beautiful scenery and lots of culture and entertainment. I would gladly return and already the fifth time I have visited, but taking a course gives you the oppurtunity to enter more into the culture of the place
Lisbon is a light-filled inviting wonderful city with many fantastic perspectives. Tejo and the proximity to the Atlantic are simply enviable. The openness, friendliness and warmth of the Lisboetas - despite the vast numbers of tourists - is deeply impressive. Only the bawling groups of bachelor parties of all sexes are unbearable! Let's hope that Lisbon does not turn into a cheap party mile... This city and the Lisboetas do not deserve that!
A great city, with a very beautiful old town. Unfortunately, many others have already discovered this :-). It is very crowded. You can easily reach a lot on foot and everything else very cheaply by metro, bus, train or Uber. I really enjoyed living outside, close to the school, so I also got to know the "non" touristy Lisboa. I am still thrilled and it was definitely not the last time.
I felt very comfortable in Lisbon. I didn’t feel stressed as I do in other European capitals. Lisbon is a beautiful city, the people are courteous and friendly and there is so much to do. And the FOOD is the best, everything I tasted was excellent. I plan on returning!
Lisbon has a special soul and it can be found in every corner through the countless "pastelaria" and "jardim" with kiosks and seating options....Simply beautiful and cosy. The city is a mass of contrasts and offers so much to discover! I am thrilled!
A very beautiful city. I would personally avoid Lisbon in summer as there are so many tourists in the city. The sights and food, as well as the friendliness of the locals, are a delight.
Lisbon is a beautiful city. There are just a lot of streets that go uphill and that can be a bit tiring after a while. Especially when it's 36 degrees.
Lisbon is an attractive and appealing place with a special flair. Here you can feel comfortable. The climate is still pleasant even in November.
The best city I have visited !!! Small capital, full of charm, lots of things to do in the city and in the surrounding area. Amazing experience.
I know Lisbon from many previous visits, we have a flat nearby. That's why I'll skip this part of the evaluation.

Overall, I am satisfied with Lusa Language school and would recommend it. Also the facility is very nice and new and the classrooms bright and comfortable. Small groups of maximum 8/10 people make a difference in learning. My overall rating of the school is good, I was hoping to learn more but Portuguese is really a very difficult language and 2 weeks is too short. I found the teachers to be well prepared, the course materials distributed were of good quality, and the theory and grammar part was well explained by both teachers. The location at the historic center was also very central and both the lecturers but also the secretariat were very kind and friendly. I am also very grateful to the school management who met my many requests and listened to my comments and criticisms carefully and tried to meet my needs and that is commendable. I found all the staff good. I thank the legendary Veronica who helped me so much in choosing the school and was perfect as a mediator and had great patience in answering all my e-mails over the course of 6 months and above all showed great professionalism and preparation, really great, congratulations!
Offer more activities where oral is spoken and practiced, and offer gathering activities in the afternoon or evening and more cultural activities: city tours, museums, etc.... For me too much English is spoken, even in class and with all LUSA staff

Very customer-oriented organisation and process. Dedicated teachers, although not all equally professional in terms of teaching methods. I think that's less important than support and a willingness to give attention.

Very interesting lessons with lots of opportunities for conversation in the afternoon workshop. The class composition is international.
A highly recommended school with nice teachers and staff.

I would like to take a course in Lisbon. In which language will the classes be held? In English?
I am very specifically looking for a language course in Lisbon that focuses on "older" people. I will be 51 and would like to take classes with people of about the same age if possible - preferably not with very young people. Are there any language courses that focus specifically on that?
If this is not an option for you, perhaps we can look at schools in Lisbon with a higher average age in general Portuguese courses:
CIAL Centro de Linguas, for example, has an average age of 25 during the summer months and 35 during the rest of the year.
Portuguese Connection, for example, has an average age of 26 during the summer months and 30 during the rest of the year.
What you can also do is a mixed group course in the morning and some private lessons in the afternoon that you can really focus there on what you need.
