How our students rated their experience in Sliema
What our students said about Sliema
There are a lot of black flies that are a nuisance. But it is pleasant for shopping and strolling. I can highly recommend hop-on-hop-off. Unfortunately there are no beautiful beaches here.
Germany
There seems to be no street and path cleaning. There is a lot of rubbish lying around everywhere. Unfortunately, the permanently strong wind also carries a lot of it into the sea. A pity.
Slovakia
Nice city in the heart of Malta. Perfect to visit La Valletta and other places around. It´s really well located and Sliema has a lot of restaurants, bars and nice beaches.
Spain
Busy city where you feel safe. Lots of activities to do on site and in the surrounding area. School well located near buses which pass very regularly.
France
Overall it’s nice. Sliema a convenient city to go all over Malta, expect the fact that buses in Malta are always delayed.
Japan
Very nice to walk around with an island very easy to access. Sea at 200m with access to the beach, pleasant setting.
France
Pleasant. However, very heavy traffic on the main road. But not in the back streets. Almost no parks.
Germany
Location well connected with the whole island, the problem is the organisation of rubbish collection.
Poland
Sliema is a very good starting point for exploring Malta

Course: General English 20 - 3 weeks

the thing that I certainly liked the most of the school were the teachers and the school staff, all were very kind and nice people, always available for any request and never rude. And the lessons were also useful and exhaustive, and the teachers always prepared.
I would definitely go back to study at this school. I spent many pleasant moments and I was never bored. It is the first time I have met people from Anglo-Saxon countries that aren't arrogant or rude. And then Malta is beautiful.

Interesting information about Sliema
Sliema is a lot less hectic than other Maltese cities. The vibe here is more cosmopolitan than the more busy party scenes in the surrounding area. It is packed with accommodation options, so you are bound to find something that fits your requirement during your study abroad experience. Whilst Sliema does not have the island's best night scene, there are still plenty of things to keep you entertained. The city has a vast array of restaurants to satisfy your taste buds with the local delicacies. The shopping is fabulous! The streets are lined with unique boutiques and The Point Shopping Centre is there for those who want known brands. Sliema is definitely a place where you need to leave a little extra room in your suitcase!
Sliema is generally considered to be a residential area, so it is unlikely that you would like to spend all your free time here. It does not have any sandy beaches either for those who want to bask in the Mediterranean sun. Good news though, there is a good bus service connecting Sliema to other cities on the island. You can dip your toes into the busy nightlife of St Julian’s or relax on the sandy beach of Golden Bay after a week of studying English in the calm of Sliema.
