51 Italian and Culture Courses in Turin

This course includes 15 general language lessons and 3 architecture lessons (2 sessions of 1.5 hours each) per week.

To take part in the course students must have Italian origins, proven by a document attesting the Italian citizenship of the student or the parents/ancestors.

Course Includes:
4 daily Italian language group lessons with students of different nationalities (students join the general group language courses at their level).
6 weekly lessons on selected days with the following programme:

• History of the Italian emigration,
  
• Analysis of the region and the place where the student's ancestors started their
  journey,
  
• Study of the dialect spoken in the region of origin,
  
• Research on the origins of the student’s surname with the help of the teacher,
  
• Planning the visit to the place of origin of the student’s family.
  
  This course will take place even with only 1 participant: in such cases, instead of the 6 classes specific to the programme, the student will have 3 private lessons per week covering the same material.

Intensive Course plus 5 culture lessons per week. The culture lessons covers: Art and Culture, History and Folklore, Media and Films, and Political and Economic Situation of Italy.

Walking tour of the city centre including Piazza Castello, Parco Valentino and Duomo di Torino, plus choice of 2 of the following visits (depending on the family’s location and your interests):

2. The National Cinema Museum
   
3. Palazzo Madama
   
4. The National Automobile Museum
   
5. Juventus Stadium
   
6. Reggia di Venaria & Gardens + Castle of La Mandria

Come and study Italian with a private teacher in their home, in Turin. You will receive 15 carefully and professionally planned one-to-one lessons per week in your teacher’s family home, where you will also benefit from the family’s conversation in Italian, as well as their native cultural knowledge. Having an Italian family accompany you during your first time living in Italy will help you understand some of the cultural differences that might exist between Turin and your place of origin.

One of the first areas you will check out should be the historic centre since this is where the vast majority of sights, shops and entertainment options are located - however just be aware that this is the area with the most international visitors, so if you want to be immersed around Italian speakers then you may wish to hang out in the San Salvario area of Turin.

You will be able to contact HLI’s Local Organiser staff who work in Turin if you ever need to raise an issue regarding any aspect of your experience with the programme, so you will always have assistance on hand.
