Positive aspects of school
"I thought the teaching methodology and materials were excellent for our beginner group. Comfortable classrooms and excellent instructor who was clear, patient and positive."
Negative aspects
"I think you could improve the quality of the excursions, including having some that are multi-lingual for the history and attributes of Firenze."

"We really didn't avail ourselves for public transport, as the school and meals were easily accessible by foot. Shopping was not a draw. We didn't seek nightlife, but were affected by loud street life until dawn."

Positive aspects of school
"I really enjoyed the afternoon tours! The ladies in the office were very helpful and friendly."
Negative aspects
"The classroom chairs with small writing trays are impractical and uncomfortable (there were no desks in our classroom). Overall, the facilities seem rather basic and do not meet modern standards. Furthermore, the level of the course participants varied greatly, which hampered learning progress. In conversation classes, the focus should be on conversation."

Positive aspects of school
"The quality of the teaching and the friendliness and availability of all those involved."
Negative aspects
"In my opinion, certain activities were lacking this year to bring all the students together, such as an aperitif dinner, which promotes cohesion. And a few too many in-class seminars, even though they are very interesting. A Saturday outing outside Florence would be a plus, like last year's outing to Siena."

Positive aspects of school
"The kindness, availability and organization of everyone, as well as the competence: the level and clarity of the courses. The location of the school, and the beautiful rooms where we worked."
Negative aspects
"I really enjoyed everything about the course! On the other hand, I was surprised by the lack of motivation among some students and the limited sense of camaraderie; especially among the younger learners. Then again, are the youth truly motivated to learn Italian? I also heard that a welcome aperitif was organised, but no one advised me, which was unfortunate. Perhaps creating a more cohesive group of students could also help."

Positive aspects of school
"The teaching staff take a very good approach to teaching. Whatever their role, the teams are extremely professional, caring, smiling, facilitative and attentive, and their aim is to do everything they can to satisfy the students. Well done"
Negative aspects
"The premises are in a wonderful, old location. The ceilings are extremely high. The downside is that the acoustics are difficult for my classes because there's a lot of resonance."

Other comments
"Frankly, I've rarely seen such a positive atmosphere in a school. It's so good! I also appreciated the fact that there weren't many students in each class, which made learning easier. Thank you for everything."
City/place
"Florence is a magnificent and culturally rich city. It's a joy to visit. However, cultural activities are very expensive and prices rise during the summer season. I think that's a shame, because the services remain the same."
Quality of teaching / language progress
"The guided tours in Italian are a real plus and add an undeniable extra dimension. The guides are superbly competent and so pleasant and friendly. Well done"
Accommodation
"The flat itself is fine, but the owner imposes unacceptable operating rules with requests for extra charges. In addition, the 4 student rooms can sometimes accommodate up to 8 people. Meals are very basic. What's more, the sanitary rules leave a lot to be desired: food left out all night and day on the gas (without being put in the fridge) and served to the students! I got really angry! In 2 weeks, two students left. These practices don't seem to me to be consistent with the school's reputation. For my part, I informed the school, in all transparency, of the discussions I had with the owner: my refusal to pay 5 euros for the 2nd shower of the day as well as the other extras.... I brought the 12 pages of rules that they wanted to photocopy..."

Positive aspects of school
"- Friendly teachers, German language was banned, whenever necessary it was translated and explained in English (which was a problem for students who couldn't speak English). - Punctuality and reliability, tightly organised lessons The learning content was actually still written on the blackboard, multimedia was not used"
Negative aspects
"- Historic building - however, the classroom echoes a lot, which makes it a little difficult for beginners to understand. - The cultural tour in Italian is too difficult for beginners. At least it should also be explained in English."

Other comments
"I received a link to a school WhatsApp group in advance. No one at the school approached us about it and no contact was made, so it was kind of pointless. But maybe it's only interesting for students who are staying much longer than a week."
City/place
"The school management does not realise that some colleagues do not feel that their concerns are being taken seriously or that they no longer feel comfortable, which leads to an increasing deterioration in the climate in general and in motivation and morale. There is perhaps a lack of empathy and leadership skills here, which - admittedly - are required of teachers."
Accommodation
"The landlady was very friendly. But it's not easy when the host family only speaks Italian and the guest doesn't yet, especially at check-in when there are a few things to clarify. The accommodation was very new and modern, the bathroom and kitchen were excellent. The room was small, there was only a small folding board for storage, there were no hooks for hanging up jackets ... The bed would have had to be converted into a sofa every day in order to be able to open the window."

"Excellent organization and communication with the school. I liked the teachers - the lessons were good. The school is in the very center of the city, it is convenient to get there and have a walk as soon as the lessons are finished. The school organised a very interesting city tour."
Negative aspects
"I can’t say what exactly I didn’t like, but there was a lack of cultural activities. Оnly one activity out of 4 offered during the week was outside the school building (city tour). I expected activities in nature or in the city, for example joint dinners, aperitifs, walks, trips, etc."

"It seemed to me that Florence has a lot of bars for nightlife, but I did not have time to explore it, so I can not rate it. In general, in Florence you need to go to museums, because it is a city of art. You can also walk a lot and for a long time, eat, do shopping."
Quality of teaching / language progress
"For some reason, I was counting on individual lessons in the afternoon, but instead there was a conversation lesson in a small group of 4 people. Overall, I liked this particular lesson, thanks to the work of the teacher and the group. In general, physically it is quite difficult to study 6 hours a day, but there is rapid progress."
Accommodation
"On the one hand, it is convenient to have a breakfast for those who are hungry in the morning: coffee and something to eat is immediately ready. On the other hand, the breakfast was very poor and the same every day. If it is a one week stay, it is an excellent option, but it is better to organise meals yourself if you stay for a longer period. A great walk from home to school, but if it's more than one week, it's better to rent a bike, otherwise you get very tired of walking. An interesting apartment, but there were few working sockets, since the house itself is an old building."

"Beautiful city that we already knew. Public transport is generally good, but sometimes a VERY long wait. Florence is not cheap (but which city is), in the center even really expensive, but if you go more to the suburbs it is doable. Groceries are more expensive than in the Netherlands. And with regard to safety: PAY ATTENTION -> there are plenty of pickpockets!"

"The teachers were fantastic: very expressive in their explanations in Italian so you could understand everything. In addition, very friendly, sociable and patient. Nothing but praise for the administration and reception: 5 stars! The classroom in which our lessons took place was essentially unsuitable: a long pipe drawer so that as students you could only sit next to each other and therefore couldn't see each other, which is not conducive to conversation. We did not participate in the afternoon activities."

"I loved the school! I liked that grammar classes take place separately. Julia perfectly explained Passato Remoto; I had a vague idea about this tense before, but now I understand the system. And the conversational practice with Sylvia was interesting - we had to invent something and even draw! Unfortunately, we studied only for 4 days as we combined the New Year holidays and the course. Of course, I would like to come and study for a longer period, and I hope I will some day. It was also nice to work at a large common table, in Salerno and in Rome we sat on chairs. The staff is really friendly and nice. I really liked the school."

The choice is yours, honestly I did prefer the smaller classes :)"

"Only two afternoon activities during the week. Advertised was every afternoon. Friday was cooking at Monika's instead. I would not go there anymore. We were not welcome at all. With great reluctance, she did the cooking and gave us the impression that we should be glad about this evening. But this was a paid part of the whole package. The teachers are nice but not competent enough for the job."
