City is old and beautiful, but in fall/winter becomes quite cold and rainy; there are thousands of nice bars/discos; the problem is: lots of foreigners, difficult to meet spanish people. I had 3 teachers and all of them were very good: class was fun *and* we learned a lot; sometimes a lot of homework (more than 3 hours). You should also take a conversation course: The differences in learning progress are amazing (see also my tip above). The class rooms are quite different: Some with real tables and a good blackboard; but others... Most students are about 17 to 23, but there are also few of them close to their 30's or even over 40's. 4 weeks are nothing - but I had great fun!!!

Salamanca is an amazing city, both culturally and aesthetically. Colegio de Espana was a well-run school. I plan on returning to both the school and the city for an extended language course.

I´ve talked to many other students and it seems to be the best language school in Salamanca. The teachers are very motivated and friendly, they even do research in their spare time to answer tricky questions you might have. Perfect learning conditions! You´ll get into contact with students from all over the world which surely is a unique experience.

Because of the big amount of students you shouldn´t be surprised to speak very often German or English in the afternoon or evening. To improve your english skills you should use the possibility of "intercambio"!!

Overall I feel that the experience was a good one. However, instead of the 60 hours stated in the brochure, we only received 50 for the two weeks duration. There was some confusion about the times that the teachers were supposed to be teaching us. The experience I had with the shared flat was incredibly bad. As the students at the Colegio are very young on the whole, they had parties almost every single night. Needless to say I got less sleep than I would have liked. I realize that the school could not have known of the problem though I would suggest some mention be said of the 'youthful' environment so that one could either choose another accommodation or be better prepared.

The certificate of the colegio was primitive written on a typewriter. It is not timely and does not reflect the excellent quality of the school. Given the the fact that we are living in the age of computer, improvement is an easy thing to do. I would be very happy about a new certificate! Otherwise, a great school!

There was a serious mistake: I signed smoker and the first thing the family told me, was that there would be no possibility to smoke anywhere in the house. The full board at this family was very, very poor, so the owner of my preferred bar invited me to some typical bacon - "the Spanish people really are better".
