What our students said about Guadalajara
I found the people in Guadalajara to be kind and very friendly. It was very easy to make Mexican friends in bars and restaurants. Also, the city is moderately urban and calm, so I think you can concentrate on both fun and studying. It only takes about 5 hours by bus to get to the beach, so it is even possible to go to Puerto Vallarta, Sayulita, or Punta Mita with friends on the weekends. I love the very beautiful Guadalajara.
The city has many museums and great food options. It is affordable. It was not a very safe city for a solo female traveler. I did not feel safe in the first neighborhood I stayed in so I had to move. I experienced a lot of cat calling in the first neighborhood. After I moved, I felt more safe but still could not go out alone at night.
I think it's a good place to stay for a long time. Homestay was so nice, but there were times when the traffic took me a long time to get to and from school. I had a hard time because of the hot weather, but it's good to have many opportunities to meet with ordinary Mexican people.
I gave 3 points to nightlife because I didn't go out at night. It was safer than I expected and the people in town were friendly. The climate was pleasant and comfortable. The people in the city are basically very kind and friendly.
The people are friendly and the food is delicious. The drink called "Horchata" is also delicious. Even if you don't know each other, you become friends right away and share sweets with them. There are many friendly people.
Beautiful city! Scores of fountains. Beautiful, historical buildings. People friendly and helpful. Streets clean! Public bathrooms very clean!
Fantastic for someone looking to build connections and experience Mexico
I loved Guadalajara! I wish i had another month here.

The professor was excellent and the school administrator was very helpful. I liked the optional conversation meet up in the afternoon as it gave me a chance to converse with native Spanish speakers.
