Positive aspects of school
"CLIC School is a bright, light-flooded building in the centre of Seville. Cleanliness and friendliness are immediately noticeable. There is a good and positive atmosphere. There are very good teachers at the school - such as Teresa and Ivan, who taught with great pleasure and competence. The office helps immediately with questions/problems - and responds very quickly."
Negative aspects
"The quality of the lessons and the learning objectives depend heavily on the individual teacher."
Details of the review
Other comments
"Many nationalities and all ages were represented - friendliness (whether office, cafeteria, cleaning staff) was very good, as was the cleanliness of the toilets and rooms. The learning concept is very good. It is also very easy to change courses - teachers and the office are quick to help. This is not a problem at all - until you have found your course, if necessary."
City/place
"Seville is a beautiful city that is safe and easy to get around on foot. The city is also clean and the friendliness of the locals is pleasant. Buildings such as the Giralda, cathedral, setas, the many small and large squares and Plaza de Espana are a delight. There are tapas bars and restaurants everywhere, the offer is very good. The city invites you to explore new things every day - every day of my 3 weeks was very nice."
Quality of teaching / language progress
"Great activities program for 50+."
Accommodation
"The flat was very nice, clean and had a very good bed. I expected that for the price. The towel and laundry service worked very well – there is a ‘Gem’ in the house who keeps everything under control. Very friendly and pleasant. However, on weekends it is very noisy throughout the night due to extensive partying (my accommodation was on the street side) – and the house is located directly on Plaza Alameda de Hercules. The school is conveniently located about 15 minutes away."

Positive aspects of school
"Excellent organisation, quick decisions in the interest of the student."
Negative aspects
"Excursion programme planning has potential for improvement. E.g. wine tasting for 45 euros without bread at the beginning and between the 4 wines. You don't have to be a wine connoisseur to know the importance of bread at the tasting. As I had eaten and brushed my teeth shortly before the tasting, I asked the head of the organisation leading the group to provide bread, which he refused. So I didn't taste any wine and left after an hour and a half. Afterwards, there must have been something to eat."

"Interesting. Beautiful, medieval old town. But I've been there twice before, both privately and at school. So nothing new this time."
Quality of teaching / language progress
"Very good and very committed teachers."
Accommodation
"There was no breakfast, just a coffee capsule. I bought bread, eggs, butter, sausage, jam etc. myself. At the end of the 2nd week I got sick, it was very cold in the room facing a small courtyard. There was no extra blanket. To get fit, I took a second capsule four times at the end of the second week, then there was no capsule the following day and after that. 16 capsules cost €3.50, so one was €0.22. On the second day there was Nescaffee. I bought 16 capsules of the same coffee for €3.50 in the supermarket. Dinner was around 9.30-10.00 pm and too late for me, it wasn't, so I did without it for the last two weeks and catered for myself. I hardly ever saw Sandra, she had to work a lot in the restaurant. I mainly stayed in the small room of about 10 square metres, where I had breakfast and dinner. The ex-husband, who had already pushed me out of the kitchen in the morning, sat in the living room where I was able to have breakfast in peace last year. From midday until early evening, he tried to persuade English-speaking people to sell for Amazon via the Internet in an extremely loud voice and then, after 3/4 of a year, to earn ten or even fifteen thousand euros, he said. I was very happy when the 4 weeks in Seville were over."

Positive aspects of school
"Range of activities and facilities. One excellent teacher."
Negative aspects
"Although administration very organised and efficient, staff bordered on officious. Apart from one teacher for one additional lesson, who was excellent, teaching was average and uninspired. Predominantly young people in the class who were disruptive and/or disinterested and this behaviour was seldom addressed by teacher."

Positive aspects of school
"Very committed and competent teachers who quickly establish a good learning atmosphere and friendly contact with the participants. The cultural programmes are well chosen and enable participants to make contact with other course participants quickly. The intensification of the oral learning content in the afternoon was also excellent."
Negative aspects
"There is (almost) nothing. The composition of the course participants poses a particular challenge for every language school."

"The cafeteria offers very good food. The dining room is admittedly too loud, sometimes too cramped and, during my stay in March, not heated well enough."

Positive aspects of school
"Very well organised, flexible with changing courses, nice teachers."
Negative aspects
"Family accommodation - My family consisted of a woman who was only present to prepare a mostly disappointing lunch or dinner that she didn't eat herself. Breakfast consisted of toast with margarine, which I had to ‘prepare’ myself. She crammed up to 5 students into her flat, one in a tiny room, another in her own bedroom which was full of her things. She didn't respect our privacy and went into our rooms when we weren't there. She let her son, who no longer lived there, have a party while she was away. When we confronted her, the school said this was perfectly fine for family accommodation. I would not recommend choosing family accommodation there."

Accommodation
"The accommodation was not really suitable for families, so I was really disappointed. It was run by a woman who accommodated a maximum number of students in her flat, obviously to make as much money as possible. 1 room was tiny, I felt sorry for the student who lived there. 4 students had to share 1 bathroom. Another was crammed into the landlady's own bedroom with a small bathroom, all full of her stuff. She was hardly ever present, only to prepare dinner or lunch (she was flexible with that). Sometimes she slept on the couch in our living room, probably when she was stressed with her boyfriend and didn't want to stay with him on those nights (she had very long and loud arguments with him on the phone that you couldn't help overhearing). It was uncomfortable for me to sleep in her bedroom while she was lying on the sofa. The food was also mostly disappointing. Breakfast consisted of toast and margarine, which I prepared myself. I'm not sure if this is a normal Spanish breakfast? I quickly decided to buy my own. For dinner she sometimes prepared fresh food but often used ready meals which was another disappointment. She didn't seem to respect our privacy and went into our rooms when we weren't there. Once she even tidied the pupil's room in the tiny room without asking, unbelievable! She rummaged through all her things! When this student calmly said afterwards that she didn't like it and would have preferred it if the landlady had asked her to do it herself, our landlady rang the school and the student had to talk to Isabelle about it, how embarrassing for the student who had done nothing wrong! After that the atmosphere was icy. Another strange thing was when the landlady's son, who no longer lives there and whom none of the students knew, had an unannounced party with his friends in the living room until about 1am while the landlady was away. None of us students felt comfortable and it was so loud that none of us could sleep. Also, all the strange boys were using our bathroom - without even sitting down on the toilet seat, of course... I recommend that the school reformulates the term ‘living in a family’ or explains it more precisely to avoid disappointments like mine. I expected something completely different and got none of it. I really loved the school and the teachers, but the ‘living with a family’ was a real disappointment."

Positive aspects of school
"Very good organization of administration, always available for questions. very central school location, at least one activity/excursion per day at fair price. Friendly teachers, my skills improved well during my stay."
Negative aspects
"A bit to much focus on "just talking" in Spanish in my point of view, especially in partner/group work without direct feedback on errors by the teacher. Also, content between morning and afternoon class could have been more related. I would have wished for more rehearsal exercises to foster the content from the morning (there are lots of exercises in the Aula book we could have done together). Also, sometimes the explanations on the grammar could have been more precise and on point. I know for a native speaker a lot of formulations simply "feel correct" but a non-native speaker needs some guidance on the existing "rules" from a trained language teacher. ;) But this are just some minor remarks, overall quality was good :)"

Positive aspects of school
"It was good to be able to study with people of various nationalities, and it was nice that the teacher also took care of me so that I could understand him well even though he was teaching in Spanish. After-school activities are conducted only in Spanish and it was participated with all group so I didn't participate much but it was good to see that there were many fun activities."
Negative aspects
"I took the course for 3 weeks. During this time the teacher changed 3 times, so there were many cases where they did not know the progress of the class. The regular class was 20 hours but I took 25 hour class. So there were supplementary classes and in this classes, teachers changed more than 3 times as well. Because of this, class was not going smoothly at all."

Accommodation
"It would have been nice if you had told me in advance that my room does not have air conditioning option. This basic information was not provided and my room was way too hot. I had to spent a lot of times outside because of that (I mostly stayed in the cafe which resulted me to spent a lot of money). Positive aspects of school
"The location and building of the school and the atmosphere within the school were excellent. I was placed in exactly the right course and the lessons in the first week with my teacher Cinta were perfect for me. I was challenged but not overwhelmed. The excursions offered by the school were great and led by friendly and competent guides. It was also great that the school's population was very diverse, both in terms of nationalities and age structure."
Negative aspects
"It was a pity that I got another teacher in the second week, who was also nice, but whose teaching style did not appeal to me. It was probably not possible to organise it any other way. It would still be great to have only one teacher for a short stay of only 2 weeks... Once, the yoga class I had registered for was cancelled and everyone except me was informed in advance. Unfortunately, there was no alternative date. Some of the classrooms were a bit cramped. But all in all, that's complaining at a high level. I was very satisfied with the school!"
