"Parola is in a fantastic location roughly 100 meters from the Basilica of Sant Croce which is a prominent (and popular) site. That helps with navigation.
Everybody was very pleasant - the teachers, the other staff, and the students.
The teachers were good."
Negative aspects
"Desks were tiny so writing was a bit more difficult. I get it, though, that a smaller space helps to keep the costs low."

"Die Signora ist sehr herzlich und gastfreundlich gewesen. Wir fanden schnell eine Kommunikationsmöglichkeit und Ebene zueinander. Die Unterkunft lag nah zum Flughafen und zur Schule machte ich jeden Morgen erst eine 15minütige Fahrt mit der Tram und dann einen schönen 20minütigen Spaziergang durch die leere Stadt."

"Everything was very personal and individual. The contact with the teachers was friendly and I felt very well looked after. The way of teaching was also very goal-oriented and a lot of fun. I would not have thought it possible that I would learn sooo much in just one week. It was really fantastic and I will definitely do it again. I also really enjoyed the afternoon events."

"Florence is a great city. But for me personally, there were far too many tourists. For my next stay in Italy, I would choose a smaller city with a beautiful landscape or where you can quickly get to the countryside / nature."

"The hostess was very friendly and the interaction very pleasant. She cooked every evening and made an effort. Although she is a vegetarian, she also prepared some meat for me from time to time. Overall, however, the dishes were very simple. I would have preferred something more typical of the country. Another plus point was that we could also talk in English, as I am an Italian beginner and otherwise it would have been very difficult to communicate."

"I lived with an Italian grandmother who unfortunately didn't speak a word of English. Privacy seems to be a different thing in Italy, too, as she went through my room during the day to remake the bed and folded my clothes as it felt right to her. After I got used to it, however, I was grateful, as even a hostel stay would have been at least as expensive."

"Overall the experience was great; the course material, activities, location of the school and general learning atmosphere. Of course, there were some differences in the teaching motivation / attitude of the teachers, which affected the language training somewhat. "Florence is definitely worth a visit! You just have to take into account that many people think so - in June and July the city was very full of tourists; you have to put up with very long queues at certain panini or ice cream stands. It is also very hot at this time of year and there are few green spaces. The landmarks are of course a dream, but are somewhat spoilt by the high prices and crowds. I was there for a fortnight and tried to get a spot to climb the cathedral on the very first day - unfortunately there were no more places available."

"My course was good on the speaking level, not very well organized with people coming and going everyday, sometimes we had 10 people in the class and then sometimes it was 3-4 (which was better), but I don't think it was what I was expecting for the amount of money I spent."
