Sliema in Malta is a popular destination for visitors and long-term expats alike, and Study & Live in your Teacher's Home offers the chance to learn English by studying and living in your teacher’s home in this sunny Mediterranean archipelago. All of your classes will be entirely tailored towards your specific language goals and will consist of 20 sessions per week - to be organised with your teacher.

There is a significant presence of expat English speakers living in Sliema, so you will be able to find groups and clubs that communicate in English, which will help to advance your communication skills. Malta is perhaps best known for its exceptional nightlife scene, but you should also be sure to take advantage of their beaches, and the constant opportunities to enjoy live music.

You will be provided with all your meals by your host family. Study & Live in your Teacher's Home has Local Organisers located in Sliema, so you will be able to easily communicate any issues with your programme to Study & Live in your Teacher's Home.

The Bildungsurlaub course offers employees the opportunity to use Germany’s educational leave program to develop language proficiency and cultural knowledge in a unique, immersive environment. The course typically runs for 5 to 10 days, combining intensive language lessons with cultural activities.

This intensive program focuses on practical language use, with classes tailored to various levels, from beginner to advanced. Participants will engage in interactive lessons, cultural excursions, and real-life scenarios to practice language skills in meaningful contexts.

Students studying 24 weeks or more, in the morning, they can be placed in the morning, afternoon or evening depending on availability.

The BELS school believes in providing their students with a balanced approach to English, consisting of both the traditional system of skill development, and as well the ability to engage with the language spontaneously and with fluency. You can expect to work on speaking, writing, listening and reading, as well as conversation skills, on a timetable of 20 lessons per week.

Some of the modern-style activities that you can expect during your classes might include role-play scenarios, debates, and discussions relating to movie clips, and so on. Classrooms are equipped with interactive boards, helping teachers deliver their lessons smoothly and fluidly.

The content of your lessons will be supported by the school’s online learning resources, and will always be related to your coursebook. At the end of the course you will receive a course certificate, and a student assessment report from your tutor.

The main goal of International House’s General English course is to enable you to have confidence when you’re out and about in the real world using English, across as wide a variety of situations as possible. This course is particularly popular with those who are staying in Malta for holiday purposes and would like to improve their level during their stay. Even so, the General course would be appropriate for learners in almost any kind of situation and is not specialised in any particular direction.

In addition to all of the grammar and vocabulary study that you will be undertaking, International House also believes that you learn best by producing language yourself in a communicative context. For this reason, you will also be exposed to a range of activities related to role plays, debates, and free speaking. Something missing from many English courses is preparation for comprehending different accents within the same language, but this is also covered in the programme - contributing to your general preparedness when using English.

The Intensive General English course delivered by ClubClass Academy consists of the content of their Standard course, but with additional lessons that are dedicated to conversation practice - where students wishing to focus on improving their oral fluency can discuss and debate a wide range of topics. The aim of this course is to help students communicate, and emphasis is placed on encouraging their fluency and confidence in using the English language.

The 30 weekly lessons may be held in the morning or afternoon and will be attended by a maximum of 12 students per class - although in practice there will be even fewer in your class. The course starts almost every Monday of the year, so you will be able to get started whenever you’re ready to go.

One week is the minimum period that students can study for, and all must be 16 years of age.

Internship Program Fee: EUR 385.
Should the duration of internship be longer than 12 weeks, EUR 25 per week for every additional week will apply.

20 hours of lessons per week aimed at preparing students for the IELTS exam.

All participants in the General course will start off taking a level test that is intended to make sure that all students are placed in a group that will be appropriately challenging and stimulating for their English language skill development. Each lesson lasts 45 minutes, which is the ideal time for introducing a topic and performing some high-quality work related to that subject.

The maximum number of students at any time is 12, ensuring that learners feel comfortable speaking in English to their group, and asking their teacher for any extra help. The groups are typically smaller than those of the summer months.

Course starts every six weeks.

There are three one-week holidays throughout the year for this programme: 22.06-26.06, 21.09-25.09, 21.12-01.01

Compulsory extra charges:

20 lessons of General English plus 10 lessons of Professional English.
