In this 15-hour-per-week course you will study the four main areas of language development: listening, speaking, reading and writing. The focus of the classes will be giving you the tools to feel more prepared and confident when it comes to managing situations in French, which will be adjusted to your ability level to make sure your classes are always stimulating and engaging.

There will be plenty of time given to developing cultural awareness and social skills, to combine with your French language development.

The semi-intensive morning course is not available during the summer months of July and August. Students can follow the afternoon course instead.

These classes take place every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday - and are purely focused on helping students develop their French grammar understanding and their writing skills. No matter what level you currently have these skills at, Accord will have the right level group for you.

As an added bonus, you’ll speak in French constantly with your classmates, since the students at this academy are diverse and from a wide range of nationalities - meaning that the common language in the classroom ends up being French.

Every teaching hour is equivalent to 60 minutes, which is more time than many schools offer per tuition hour. Class sizes are set to a maximum of 14 participants, so you will be able to work together effectively with your classmates while using French, and also be able to consult your teacher whenever necessary.

I was excited anyway, but I was still a long way short of my knowledge of the language, which made me disinterested and quit the course on the first day, because I had signed up to do 40 hours a week and I thought it would be torturous for me. I didn't have a short-term goal, I wanted to deepen my knowledge in a lighter way and not have to keep repeating present subjunctive conjugations that I was already tired of knowing. I also found the methodology a bit anachronistic. I didn't think the school was terrible, my comment had to do with my expectations. In fact, I'd just spent two weeks in England doing the same thing in English and it was a completely different experience.”

“I was lucky to have a good teacher. The classes were interesting, interesting topics were discussed.”
“- I did miss though a clear programme and curriculum that was being used during the classes. It really depended on the subjects chosen by the teacher, which were - as mentioned - very interesting but also very random. There was no specific curriculum of, for instance, B2-level grammar (which I did) that we could go through. Sometimes too much time was spent on explaining very basic (A1/2-level) grammar as the level of French of some students was definitely not B2, which brings me to my next point.
- I would suggest that the assessment of the students' language knowledge prior to enrollment be revised. The online language test was very short and simple, and I felt that a number of students in my class did not have the level they had signed up for, which adversely affected the quality of the class.
- Minor detail, but perhaps still worth mentioning, there were very few toilets at the institute, only two, resulting in long queues during breaks.”

These programmes are displayed at the school and students book direct with these organisations independently of the school once they are in Paris if they want to.

The Adagio Access La Défense Léonard de Vinci residence is located a short walk from the La Défense district, shops and restaurants. Each studio includes a bed, a kitchenette, desk area, bathroom with shower and toilet, TV and free Wi-Fi. The residence has a heated indoor pool. Guests also benefit from access to self-service laundry facilities and can have breakfast at the residence for an extra fee.

Are there activities on the ACCORD Paris?
“ACCORD does not offer a formal activity programme for our adult students, as our students at our ACCORD Tour Eiffel school organize their own social activities.
We have partners who offer weekend trips and sightseeing. Their programmes are posted around the school so students can see if they are interested in any of the activities. Once in Paris, you can decide whether to participate (or not) and book and pay for the visit/excursion directly with our partners.”

“Mother and son are welcome to learn French together in 2:1 semi-private lessons. The lessons are expected to take place in the afternoon and at least one double lesson (120 minutes) must be booked per day.”

“No. This module is a theory module. Sight-seeing is not offered. The module takes place twice a week for 3 hours each Monday and Friday.”

I would like to enroll in a French class for Seniors (I am 66) in Paris. I've been studying French for about 10 years, but need much practice (especially with speech), and much correction. I can only enroll for one week. What do you recommend?
“Our partner schools in Paris don't offer Senior courses. I can recommend you the Oral Communication course offered by the Accord French language school. You can start the course any Monday if you speak some French. Students get along well during the lessons as their language level and their goals are the same. The 50+ courses tend to be geared toward a slower learning curve with a focus on sight-seeing and socialising. If your intention is a more serious study, I do recommend you the Oral Communication course which includes the Intensive Course A (26 standard French lessons per week) and 8 afternoon lessons dedicated to Oral Communication. If this is too intensive for you you can book only the afternoon Oral Communication lessons (8 lessons per week).”

“The formats of A1-level French exams (DELF, TCF, TEF) may vary and combine paper-based and computer-based tests. This depends on the exam and the centre chosen.

“Currently (2025), the school offers the Oral Communication Course (20 Group + 8 Oral Communication). You can always add some private lessons to this plan to maximize your progress, if you wish so. ”

“The school can't offer any refund or make up for lessons in case students leave earlier or if a bank holiday falls on a weekday. This is the standard policy applied by the majority of the schools.”

I would like to send my 17-year-old daughter to Paris to do a DELF course for 2-3 weeks. This is because she needs A2 French for her studies. She has already studied French for 4 years in high school in the Netherlands and thinks she has a current level of A1 (although I think it might be higher if she has been studying for 4 years)?
What do you recommend doing?
“She first has to do a placement test to see what her current level is before we know if 2-3 weeks would be enough for her to be able to successfully make the DELF exam for level A2. The school cannot guarantee that she will reach the level required in 2-3 weeks, as it will depend on how hard she works, her motivation and aptitude.
In accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages which ACCORD School adheres to: to go from complete beginner level (A0) to A1, you need to follow a course of minimum 20 hours per week for approximately 5 weeks. To go from A1 level to A2 level, you need another 6 weeks approximately. It also depends on aptitude, motivation and self-study.
Regarding the DELF exam, we aren't an exam centre for this exam and I'm afraid we cannot currently help students to register for the DELF exam. If you would like to take the exam connecting to the course, please register directly with one of the official centres in Paris and note that the exam centres require a minimum of 8 weeks between the registration and the exam date.”
