Lower Saxony, known in German as Niedersachsen, is a German state in the North West of the country. It reaches the Wadden Sea and encircles the State of Bremen. Hanover is the capital city of the region and has attractions such as Herrenhausen Gardens, Zoo de Hannover and Sprengel Museum. The North of the region has the amusement park Heide Park Resort and the spectacular Lüneburg Heath. The Harz National Park is in the South of Lower Saxony and has wonderful wilderness trails during the summer months and skiing options in the winter.
