"Faro is a compact city, not too big. The centre is nice, and there are many places to stop for a bite to eat. The old centre is architecturally interesting, but so are the modernist buildings outside it, whose beauty only becomes apparent at second or third glance. The cultural offerings are limited, but there is something on offer at the weekend. The train takes you quickly to the towns west and east of Faro. You can get to the beach by boat or bus. However, the train is sometimes delayed and there are not many trains in the evening."

"Due to my good placement test results, I was immediately placed in the B2 course. I asked to be downgraded, was then placed in B1, and even that was still too difficult for me, as my active Portuguese and grammar skills were no longer present. They were always worried that I might get bored if it was too easy. The last few days I was in an easier course and felt very comfortable! Now I've passed the B1 test, but it was only really fun after that, when the material was easier. And to talk to people, you need the basics."

"The accommodation was okay, but very spartan. I was in a shared flat. There were no pictures on the walls and no other decorations. The kitchen wasn't fully equipped either, but I bought a wine glass and a large water glass to start with. I also bought pepper, salt and shower gel. I'm leaving them there, but it would be really nice if they could be left for the next guests. As I lived there mostly on my own, the flat wasn't furnished in a cosy way by the people living there. The immediate proximity to the school was great. And there was heating, which I used on two days in December. There was also a washing machine, iron, clothes horse, two bathrooms, a dining room, a sofa area and a television. So, in terms of hardware, everything you need was there."

"Everything is within easy walking distance. It's exciting to go on the trail of old buildings or houses, because you don't see them all straight away. The city has very beautiful streets and squares. The air is good there and the “Ria Formosa” nature park is fascinating."

"I am not a big fan of Faro, but that might be because of my experience in Porto. It is great little city, make sure you visit the neighboring towns as well. Trains and busses are a good way of transportation, just keep in mind that they don't leave every single hour of the day. Great food and drink options available."

"They go pretty slow through the course materials. Just 3 chapters a week, everything will explained up to six times and I had to read the same course materials 2 or 3 times in class. The are pretty much on the clock. Not a minute overtime during the classes. A big difference with Fast Forward in Porto. If you have the basic knowledge and are keen to learn grammar, then Cial's teaching is pretty slow."

"Don´t miss a trip to Sagres and the beaches near Sagres. You can get a good rate for a car-rental at the airport. Sharing a car with some students are less expensive and definitely a good thing."

"There are 4 classrooms and a nice yard. At each level there were not more than 3 students, even in August. It seems Faro is less crowdy than most of other places. For some partypeople may be a bit slow, but perfect for combining study and leisure. My teacher prefered to teach less grammatical issues and the focus was always on speaking, listening and comprehension. The book was excellent. You can take your own copy home. If you like they will sell you a exercise book and grammar book for the same price as the local bookstore."
