Why Biarritz? An elegant seaside town in the south west of France, Biaritz has been a ...
popular resort since the 1800s. It’s also a major surfer hangout, offering long sandy beaches and lots of surf schools. Although the seaside town has retained much of its glamour, a lot has been lost due to the countless concrete buildings that have been built in recent years. Nevertheless, Biarritz remains one of the southwest's seaside gems and throngs with visitors in summer. The Rocher de la Vierge is a rocky outcrop topped with a statue of the Virgin Mary and can be reached by footbridge, a top it offers fabulous views of the Bay of Biscay.

What our students said about Biarritz

Rating: 4/5

4.0

Biarritz is a very beautiful Basque city whose traditions are recognizable. The coastline to the south exudes a certain charm with its steep slopes and the Côte des Basques is a great beach, but unfortunately only accessible for half a day. The Grande Plage is mainly used for tourist life, where it can get quite crowded in the high season. The weather is not so stable that Biarritz is the ideal place for sunbathing, but the waves there enable a unique surfing experience, which definitely makes up for a little wind or rain. The city is very well connected by buses and offers numerous restaurants.

The students and teachers were as friendly as their families. The break time and lunchtime were all spent on the terrace, which led to an improvement in French. It was great that all the teachers knew each and every one. And I liked it because I liked the well-balanced class matched to the students, as well as the grammar statements.
It was nice that there was surfing for the afternoon class. There are free coffee and tea, so it was a very satisfying school.

I would like, that the teachers should have programs for learning for 2, 3, 4 weeks. I started with the subjunctive during the first week. I find that this is not the most important lesson. It would be fine to talk about everyday life, the school-system, the history or the habits, the conditions of this country to get used to the language and to learn important vocabulary you need everyday. With the written and oral tests, the school should see what lessons are important for the pupils and so they could organize the class.

The atmosphere of the building. The very helpful, kind staff.
The classification of the students should be more organized. There is too big a difference in level among the students. Also, the teachers should share the information of the students when there is a change in teachers.

The debates we had in and out of the classrooms. Everybody was always sympathetic, kind and friendly.
It could be a good idea to make more intensive programs, with no only three hours a day, but 4 or 5 hours.
