Why Lyon? Two hours from the alpine ski resorts and three hours from the sea, Lyon, has a reputation as the French capital of gastronomy. With the exception of Paris, the city boasts the largest number of Michelin-starred restaurants and famous chefs in the whole of France. The city is also known as the 'city of light'. This tradition continues to the present day – December 8 each year is marked by \"the Festival of Lights” where more than one hundred sites throughout the city are lit up to show the splendour of Lyon's architecture.

What our students said about Lyon

Rating: 5/5

5.0

Hard to give accurate picture since the city was quite empty of locals - a great many people had gone on holiday and many venues/shops/museums were closed.

Certificates could be printed on better quality paper. We spend a lot of money on the courses, would be nice if the school provided us with quality certificates.

The teachers were helpful and the methods were very good. I liked coming with the students and and becoming acquainted with them.
It wasn't good, when I had to repeat the same course two times, so I think it´s better to make the time from the beginning of the course suitable for the student.

Lyon is a fantastic city worth exploring every nook and cranny. I had lots of time after my morning classes to take in the sights and enjoy my summer in the city.
No food is allowed to be eaten inside the classrooms, so come to class with a full stomach and bring a snack for the break.

Meeting other students was great. The people were very kind.
I found that the instructor talked too fast in my class and it was beyond my ability to comprehend what she was saying. I attended a tutorial for the class that was one level below and found it far too easy and slow. I was very disappointed to find such a large gap between the two levels. The instructor eventually slowed down a little bit during the second week but the classes still lacked a structure and did not really connect with each other. We never received a detailed syllubus and the materials handed out to us each day were some sheets photocopied from some unknown workbook. There were no exercises with solutions given for practice and no textbook for reference. I was disappointed with the organization of the school and the quality of the instruction. The administration was willing to move me to the easier section, but I thought that would have been worse in the end.
