What our students said about Reggio Emilia

I loved Reggio Emilia. The best thing is that there aren’t any tourists and the locals (maybe for that reason) don’t speak much English, which makes the city a perfect destinations for Italian language students who want to make the most of their stay learning Italian.

5.0Marianne Denmark

We were only at school and then spent about 2 hours travelling around the city. That's why we can't say too much about many things. But I think 1 piece of cake for 8 euros (which is supposed to be normal) is too expensive - even by Munich standards.

5.0 Heike Germany

Without being a city with an old historic center like so many other cities in Italy, it is welcoming and very clean.

5.0Rita Argentina

It is easy to visit other interesting cities by train. There is a lovely outside market in the city.

5.0Rita England UK

I liked it very much for its tranquility and public events to enjoy.

What language school directors said about Reggio Emilia

It is small enough to get around on foot, but it has all the facilities of a city. It is the ideal location for a genuine immersion in the Italian life outside the world of tourism.

Elena is a great teacher, she goes to great lengths to explain everything in a way that everyone can follow and always tries to get everyone involved and talking. It was also great that all the students were called together for a small birthday cake meal and were able to try the local cake specialities. Daniela also went out of her way to help us and found exercises for our day (1st May) with Rosanna. And she took a small group of students into town for lunch and then to a museum.

Why Reggio Emilia? Reggio Emilia is a charming old town in Northern Italy and is the place where the Italian tri-color flag was first adopted. It’s quaint, stylish, and sophisticated and very welcoming. It is a very cyclist-friendly city of attractive squares, grand public buildings and a leafy park where visitors can find almost everything from Renaissance figures, historic cathedrals, art, theatre, great food, and much more. The old town has a hexagonal form, which derives from the ancient walls, and the main buildings are from the 16th–17th centuries.
