Located in the trendy area of Santa Barbara, the Kaplan International Languages is in the Lower State neighbourhood of the city. It is a short walk from the centre, and there are various bars, restaurants and cafes around the streets of the school. Minutes from the school is the Stearns Wharf and West beach, a long strip of sand beach.
The centre of the city is very walkable. There are bus routes that run all over the city, for easy transportation. The Santa Barbara Amtrak train station is 10 minutes by foot from the school. From here, it is possible to take a train to nearby cities including Los Angeles and San Diego.
Some of the attractions in Santa Barbara are on the outskirts of the centre. The Botanical Gardens is a ten minute car ride, or a 20-minute bike trip. The city has some interesting historical architecture and the Old Mission Santa Barbara 1786 is 25 minutes by public transportation from the centre.
The school has exam preparation courses for the TOEFL exam and the Cambridge exams. There are English lessons for the duration of a semester or a year. Private lessons and a business supplementary course are available at Kaplan International Languages.
