Trapani (Sicily) ratings & reviews

What our students said about Trapani (Sicily)

A great place to get to know Sicilian life without the hustle and bustle. According to Sicilians (also from other parts of the island), Trapani has the most beautiful beaches with turquoise-blue water. City beach really beautiful, clean, shallow water. Beautiful islands nearby. Good bus connection to get to know other places.

4.0Elena Italy

I had a certain idea of Trapani and was not disappointed. The mix of city and beach was perfect. Trapani is a bit cosier than Palermo, but still not boring. There are some nice sights and a good connection for a trip to Marsala. The stores and supermarkets have everything you need, and I felt very comfortable.

5.0Susanne Germany

In general, Trapani is a very beautiful and interesting city in a fantastic location. Unfortunately, many things are closed in the off-season, e.g. museums and excursion providers, and most buses do not run on Sundays. The student card was also hardly usable, as the providers were closed.

3.0Gabriele Germany

I loved it so I don't want to encourage too many more visitors (ha ha). I didn't use public transport so it's hard to rate that. Whilst the historic centre was kept clean there is litter on beaches generally in the area and way too much dog dirt in the streets.

5.0Kay England UK

Trapani is a beautiful city. There is a lot to do. Lively Italian nightlife, culture, there are also many excursion options in the surrounding area. Public transport is a bit chaotic but you can get everywhere in the end. Beautiful beaches and great flair.

5.0Cornelia Germany

Trapani is a very beautiful town, on a human scale, in a good location. The inhabitants are very friendly and dynamic. The school has absolutely nothing to do with it, but it has to be said that Trapani, like much of Sicily, is a particularly dirty town.

5.0Bénédicte France

It was the first city in Italy where locals always spoke Italian to me. For a language student this is a huge advantage! Trapani is also a city with lots of local life, not just shops and restaurants for tourists.

5.0Sinikka Finland

Trapani is tranquil, still in season in October, but not so many foreign tourists. Beautiful location with sea on two sides. Beaches are small, some of them unkempt. Lots of restaurants and bars.

4.0Martina Germany

A fantastic, quiet little town where the people who all knew the school helped us to make the experience complete. The cleanliness is to be commended. We will treasure our 15 days in Trapani.

5.0Steve Canada

I think Trapani and the area is beautiful, friendly, with great activities and excellent food.

Scuola Virgilio

I liked: the class size (4-5 people), the lessons/the teacher (I had one teacher throughout the two weeks).

My teacher Daniela gave great and very good lessons. It was varied, and she responded well to individual students. I learned a lot and had a lot of fun. The modern lessons on a large screen instead of a blackboard were great and a highlight for me. The evening activities on offer were really nice and encouraged team spirit. All the teachers and staff at the school were super helpful and friendly. I can only warmly recommend the school.

Always nice contact, school very central, modernly equipped and clean. 4th floor, but with a lift! Our group was very international and all had a lot of life experience. The teacher Daniela was very attentive to our mistakes, but also suggested topics and asked questions. She gave our grammar a good boost. And always in a good mood and fun! Organised a few activities to get to know the city. Also great recommendation of the hotel nearby. In Trapani there is a very nice clean beach right in the city, 10 min walk from the school.
