Your Spanish skill development will evolve thanks to 20 hours per week of carefully designed lesson plans that focus on all four of the main areas of learning a second language: reading, writing, speaking and listening.

Your classes throughout this course will be small, meaning that you and your teacher will get to know each other more, and thus work effectively together to move you towards your Spanish language goals. You will use a course book as a means of having a clear and well-structured curriculum, and your experienced and passionate teachers will also provide you and your peers with engaging and stimulating activities to supplement this, which might include video clips, debates, and so on.

HLI’s home tuition programme in Tenerife will allow you the chance to learn Spanish while living with your teacher in this sunny Spanish paradise in the Canarian Islands. You will take a total of 15 lessons every week, and these classes can be focused on specialist subjects of your choice, or even based on preparing for university or the workplace. A key feature of living with your host teacher and their family is that you have access to an immersive environment, enabling you to learn the Spanish language and Canarian culture even more quickly.

There are some potentially important differences between the north and the south of Tenerife, with the south being characterised by a large expat population and an extensive tourism and entertainment environment - while the north tends to be more rural and inhabited by life-long Tenerife locals (with some exceptions). No matter which side of the island you live in during your Spanish studies, you’ll have interesting lifestyle options to consider, which might include surfing in Taganana or Los Cristianos, or hiking in Anaga or the Teide National Park. If nightlife is what you’re looking for, then Puerto de la Cruz and the majority of the south of Tenerife will meet your needs.

The Academy makes use of placement tests at the beginning of the course to ensure that you are assigned to a group that is appropriate for where you are right now in your Spanish journey.

Each lesson is 45 minutes in duration.

The semi-intensive Spanish course includes 2 lessons per day, with students choosing between grammar and conversation. A minimum A2 level is recommended for this course.

The price includes 10 weekly lessons, books, application fee, level test, certificate, and a guided visit to Málaga.

Courses are divided into levels, ensuring all classmates are at the same level. Both the grammar and communication sections are tailored to promote the best results.
If you choose this course, you have to add 30% more to the price of accommodation.

Madrid is the ideal location for students taking HLI’s home tuition Spanish course, not just for being the capital, but also due to the wide range of activities that can be undertaken here to complement your studies. This is a city that is used to welcoming people from all over the world, and this means that as a foreigner learning Spanish, you will feel at home much more quickly than in some other Spanish cities.

You will take 15 hours of lessons every week in your teacher’s home, where you will have your own room and a place to study. Since this is a full board experience, your host family will provide your three meals every day - which is an excellent opportunity to sit down together and have a conversation in Spanish.

This giant city offers many different kinds of lifestyle, depending on the neighbourhood that you find yourself in. Lavapies is fast becoming the city’s hub for trendy hipster hangouts, while Gran Via and Callao provide Madrid with its commercial centre, both of which feature historical curiosities at every turn.

The Semi-Intensive Spanish course follows the tried and tested model of working on the main pillars of language learning: grammar & vocabulary, speaking, listening, and writing.

You will develop your Spanish language skills on a schedule of 15 customised one-to-one lessons every week, all while living with your teacher at their home in Malaga, Spain. The immersion that this home tuition programme offers students overcomes the tendency that language students often experience of not having many opportunities to practise outside of the classroom.

Malaga is an Andalusian city, so it’s a given that this city gives considerable importance to the performance of music and dance, which you will be able to easily find almost wherever you go. Due to its coastal location, you will have access to yellow-sanded beaches and the chance to take up a unique water sport such as surfing, if that’s what you’re looking for. As is to be expected with a city in the Costa del Sol, you can also look forward to a diverse and vibrant nightlife scene.

HLI has Local Organiser staff positioned in Malaga in order to quickly and effectively solve even any small issues you might encounter during your time on their home tuition programme.

This course focuses on the grammatical aspects of Spanish by teaching students new concepts and giving them practice exercises.
