Sistema de Acreditación de Centros Instituto Cervantes (SACIC) (Sistema de Acreditación de Centros Instituto Cervantes)

To become a SACIC accredited organisation the following criteria must be met:

- meet all the conditions of the Cervantes Institute Accreditation System as evaluated by an inspection;

- the inspection will look into the following areas of the organisation; the general operations of the centre, the teaching, learning and social services, facilities and resources of the school as well as the information of the center and its services;

- Accredited schools have an inspection every 3 years.

A student wishing to lodge a complaint against a school who is accredited by Instituto Cervantes must contact the school in question directly. Part of the accreditation inspection process includes an in depth evaluation of the schools complaints procedure and, as a result, the accreditation will be satisfied that the complaint will be handled professionally within the schools guidelines.

If a school accredited by Instituto Cervantes should go bankrupt and a student is left with an uncompleted course duration, the case will be transferred to the Spanish Federation of Associations of Schools of Spanish for Foreigners (FEDELE). The student's course and duration will be assessed internally and accredited centres in the surrounding area will be contacted to provide the student will an alternative location, as close to the original course as possible.
